Accolades and excitement abound from GX tenants
The Green Exchange tenants, many of whom are housed in temporary offices on the third flood of the Baum Building, 1030 West Chicago until the project is complete, have also been busy over the past several months making the world more sustainable.  Here are a few highlights from some of their most recent accomplishments: Mindful Metropolis Magazine hosts the Green Carpet Gala May 21st.  Walk the green carpet this month at Mindful Metropolis’ premier Green Carpet Gala, the kick off party for the Chicago Green Festival, on Friday May 21 at the Marmon Grand.  This event, featuring the Reader’s Choice Awards ceremony, green speakers, and headliner band Funkadesi, will celebrate the magazine’s first anniversary of connecting and showcasing the best of Chicago’s conscious community.  Mindful Metropolis’ publisher, Richard McGinnis, recently became the newest Green Exchange tenant to join the Social Venture Network.  In an effort to do

Are you a Chicagoland small business owner looking to make some energy efficiency upgrades?  You may be eligible for some financial help if you act soon.

People’s Energy is giving rebates to small business owners on energy efficient furnaces, boilers, water heaters and insulation purchased between November 1, 2009 and January 15, 2010.

To qualify, gas furnaces, boilers and water heaters must be installed by professional contractors. Property owners may opt to self-install attic and wall insulation or hire a professional contractor.

The maximum rebate amounts are: $750 for insulation, $600 for boilers, $450 for furnaces and $400 for water heaters.  For more information, go to People’s Energy.
